We’ve been thinking about club membership for some time; weighing the pros and cons and basically trying to decide if membership in a club is a good fit for us.

After discussing this with friends (Dave & Jean aboard Salish Nomad) we’ve landed on the Squalicum Yacht Club based in Bellingham.

Dave and Jean sponsored us and we are now new members!

This is an affordable club with a good list of reciprocal moorages. Places we visit, and places we want to check out.

We plan to get up to Friday Harbor next week, and will hopefully be able to stay on the reciprocal dock there at the marina.

In addition to moorage opportunities, SYC hosts an annual work party on Sucia Island. Sounds like fun and we hope to join them there in September.

We’re looking forward to learning more about the club and participating in activities as we can.
