It was a little breezy in Garrison Bay but not too bad. We were able to take the dinghies to Westcott Shellfish for lunch on Saturday, after a hike up Young Hill in the morning. It was Wescott’s third annual Oysters on the Green event…live music and, you guessed it, oysters! Nick is now ordering the “shuck them yourself” option and getting quite good at it. Yum!

Ramble On:

The RO crew treated us to a wonderful dinner Saturday evening at the Madrona Bar & Grill (Roche Harbor). Very thoughtful and generous of them. We have been happy to show them some of our favorite boating destinations.

The Rambling Cruise came to an end after twenty days and we said our goodbyes Sunday morning. We hauled anchor and made our way back to Skyline, loaded the car and headed home. They stayed in Garrison Bay another night and then headed back to Vancouver Island, and Victoria, to meet up with family. Who knows, maybe we’ll see them again as we head north to the Broughtons, if they haven’t headed back down the coast by then.

Steve and Shannon:

A note about a problem we think we have solved. There’s been a fresh water leak on ToG, we think since the beginning. Just enough to put a little water in the bilge, which I clean out every once and a while. It seemed worse lately so Nick and Steve traced it to the hot/cold water mixer at the shower faucet. (Thanks for the help, Steve!) What they found was very loose fittings, which may have caused the early very slow leaking, and a crack in the housing, which may have happened during the cold spell and was what made it recently worse. We ordered a new housing from American Standard, which should be delivered this week. Can’t wait to get that installed!
