We drove to La Conner yesterday to lunch with Mike and Deb. As we plan to spend the next few weeks with them, we thought a little planning would be a good thing. (Their boat, Aris, is having some water tank repair work done at the factory.)
Our plan was to spend the night at our dock, then take off for Semiahmoo today. But…Nick replaced the part on our shower mixer valve and lo and behold…still leaking!
After taking it all apart several times and a few phone calls to our ever-helpful boat guru Kurt, we found further damage to the inside of the valve.

Hairline cracks:

Kurt ordered a repair kit, which we should have by tomorrow afternoon. So we’ll stay at Skyline another night, see how things go, and then head north. Looks like we will skip Semiahmoo.
In the meantime I have a great opportunity to forge ahead with other boat-related chores including fixing my bathroom rug, washing the snap-in carpets and other mats, installing new burgee clips on the anchor light pole for our Canadian courtesy flag, and whatever else I can accomplish.
