We arrived in Lagoon Cove yesterday. What a spot!
(Shannon, is this place name from the Department of Redundancy Department?)

This is a small marina on West Cracroft Island. It’s charming and rustic, with so many nice touches.

Maybe it’s most famous for the daily potluck happy hours in the old “Workshop” at 5pm, where they – and I mean they – supply guests with all of the fresh prawns you can eat!
It’s unbelievable, really. One of their staff gets prawns each day, which are cooked up and served in a huge bowl for all to enjoy. Guests are asked to bring some kind of food to share, and the whole thing turns into a dinner potluck.
Lovely flowers with ToG and Aris at the dock:

We were happy to see Ghost and crew, more AT friends already at the dock. Fun when paths cross unexpectedly.
We put out crab pots yesterday…and nothing…
After an overnight soak, with prawn heads supplied (for free!) by the marina folks, we finally got three keepers. Yet another awesome thing? They have an outdoor cook top, and crab-cooking pots, under a covered area on the dock for all to use! Nice to keep the crab-cooking off the boat.
Mike and Deb’s new pot loaded with prawn heads:

Nick and I took a quick paddle yesterday, and then I ventured out on my own this morning. Very good kayaking area. And a very healthy sea star population. Weather a bit different today, overcast and drizzly at times.

As yet unidentified (by me) duck-like birds:

Great scenery from my kayak:

This place is quite special. Very helpful staff, and gratis coffee in the morning. And bear spray to borrow if we decide to walk one of their trails!
Btw, bear photos taken with my camera did not turn out well. I see a change in devices in my future.
