We’ve spent the past few days mostly chilling…a little hiking, listening to the rain, napping, and watching boats come and go in this small, busy cove on the north side of Jones Island.

This morning we’ll cross the border again for Port Sidney, where we’ll charge up, fill water tanks, provision, etc. in preparation for a few days on the hook in Tod Inlet.

I want to share a couple of things related to boat “stuff.” I recently made these interior porthole covers using craft foam, elastic, and glue. They work really well. I may “pretty them up” later by affixing fabric to cover the glued elastic and to add a bright bit of color to our berth.

Related to boat stuff: I subscribe to The Boat Galley. (Not just about the galley.) As this is mostly about livaboards in Florida, not all topics are of interest to me. Recently, the host wrote about checklists. I am a frequent user of the digital list called AnyList, where I keep track of all kinds of things including boat packing, provisioning, menus, and inventory. It’s easily accessed on my phone and is a simple way to keep track of important items and tasks. It truly does help us remember many of the details needed aboard, and at home, making life a little easier.
