Dinner at Smitty’s Oyster House in Gibsons was excellent! Quite a place. Busy, great location on the waterfront and good seafood. We had oysters, on the half shell and pan fried, mussels, and chowder. The chowder was a little more “herby” than we like but otherwise, very good food. Despite what I read online, the service was exceptional.

Wanted to include a photo of this nice swimming beach in Gibsons. What a great community resource:

Sunday morning I heard a loud noise and saw a lot of spraying water on the other side of the pier; some kind of vessel coming and going. I was curious so went to check it out. Unfortunately, this boat was already on its way out by the time I got there. Not at all sure what it was but seemed to be powered by giant blowers? There were quite a few people watching and one said he thought it might be search and rescue or fisheries. I tried to look it up but didn’t see what I thought was this boat:

We moved back to Union Steamship Marina in Snug Cove on Bowen Island for a couple of nights. They put us out on the first linear dock (E) and we enjoyed it.
Monday morning we took a hike out to Dorman Point. Not long but steep and slippery in some places. Fortunately, they’ve added stairs which makes it easier/safer.

We departed Bowen Island yesterday for False Creek in Vancouver. We’re tucked into a slip at False Creek Yacht Club and are so far very pleased with our accommodation. Richard (dock master) goes above and beyond.
Friends Deb and Mike aboard Aris arrived in False Creek yesterday as well and are a short dinghy ride away at Quayside Marina. We had happy hour with them yesterday and were chastised (strongly) for tying our tender up to the dock by Aris.
Off to Granville Market this morning, and we have reservations at Fanny Bay Oysters this evening.
