Finally, much better weather…and you guessed it! Crabs!!!

Nick and Mike were relentless and it paid off.

We stayed in Lagoon Cove for three nights, taking advantage of the down time, getting some boat chores done, crabbing, and kayaking.

I’ve mentioned the happy hour potlucks at Lagoon Cove but I want to elaborate. These are every night, I guess as long as there are boats at the marina. The outdoor seating space is up on their pier, with food laid out inside the old workshop. Basically, guests are asked to contribute…anything, and the hosts supply fresh prawns and sauce. (If you can’t contribute anything, no big deal!)

Last evening was a nothing short of a feast! I ate so much I got a stomach ache. Deb’s mac and cheese was a hit again. There was fried rice, Spaghetti, scalloped potatoes, all kinds of crackers with assorted dips and spreads…and brownies. Oh, and nachos and Cheesits. And more that I just can’t remember. Anyway, you make a little something and…it’s dinner! What a fun treat.

Mike got some great shots of the evening scenery:

We are retracing our steps a bit as we make our way to Desolation Sound. We spent more time in Johnstone Strait this time, and it got a bit snarky out there. Lessons learned: Deb, sit down and hold on; Janine, don’t shower in rough water.

We are now back at Blind Channel Resort. It’s the solstice as well as our 38th wedding anniversary. We’re celebrating with dinner at the restaurant. To be continued…
