Our plan was to drive to Skyline on Sunday after saying goodbye to Malcolm and Ren but a change in weather changed our plans. Winds were forecast so we delayed a day and arrived in Skyline Monday afternoon. We stayed on our dock and departed early Tuesday morning, bound for Bainbridge Island, Eagle Harbor.
It was a long day, mostly easy cruising with some rain, and we pulled into Eagle Harbor just after 4pm. We snagged a reciprocal berth at the Winslow Wharf Marina, as the weather wasn’t great and we didn’t feel like anchoring.
I was surprised to see the ferries Elwha and Klahowya at the yard. They were supposed to be towed out Monday, bound for an Ecuadorean recycling facility.

Apparently there were towing-related problems and they had to return to the yard. News articles I read say they are back “indefinitely.” I bet WSF is bummed about this!
We are now underway to Gig Harbor and will welcome friends and family aboard over the next several days.
Our soon-to-be-five eldest grandson Malcolm often does artwork that he wants us to put on the boat. Happy to oblige! Sea Star:
