If my posts this trip seem to focus on weather it’s because, well, the weather wasn’t great. Unseasonably cold and rainy.

We had a bit of clearing in Poulsbo and walked up the hill. Here is a shot of the marina, and ToG, from the historic church. First time we had ever checked out the old graveyard behind it.

On Monday we made our way back down Colvos Pass to the Pt. Defiance marina to drop off Sierra and Brian, then headed back up the East Passage to spend a night in Edmonds. It poured.

We hit some bumpy water off of Camano Island and then spent our last night in La Conner at the reciprocal dock.

After stopping at the Cap Sante fuel dock, we watched these young sailors go by:

After docking, tidying, and packing the car at Skyline, we drove home through bad traffic after stopping for sandwiches at the good old Holiday Market.

In a week we’ll depart for adventures on the East Coast (Rockport, Montreal, Vermont) and Portugal (Tivera and Lisbon), returning in October.

Not sure when we’ll get on the water again, but hoping for some decent weather windows over the fall and winter. We’ll at least need to get up there to take care of some winterization tasks.

    Hi Janine,

Speaking of the weather: Last Saturday we arrived at the Reno airport on our way to visit a relative in North Lake Tahoe. Not only was it in the 50s and raining, when we got to Truckee we encountered hail and a bit of snow, the first time in 20 years they had snow in August. Made for beautiful mountain scenes the next day, and then it was back to typical warm summer days.

BTW: Turned out, it was also the start of Burning Man. I was puzzled at the outlandish outfits people were wearing while waiting for their bags. It all became clear when we rented our car. There was a sign on the counter announcing a $750 cleaning deposit for cars headed to Burning Man.

Have a blast on your upcoming adventures,

    Richard
