It was a relatively short cruise (13nm) Tuesday from Tod Inlet directly north to Genoa Bay, on Vancouver Island, off of Cowichan Bay.

Not many boats on the guest docks.

We were here with Coorie Doon in 2023. It’s a nice spot to overnight. Restaurant, nice little marina store, gallery/gift shop, and hiking.

Looking at Genoa Bay Cafe, ToG beyond

After pizzas in the toaster oven/air fryer (which turned out pretty darn good – bagel setting first to get the bottom, then air fry [because the Magma burns pizza!]), we went for a very nice paddle around the bay. This bay is fairly clear of derelict and live-aboard disasters, except for a few awful boat houses/docks/boats in the north part. Unlike parts of Ganges and Brentwood Bay, which are veritable junk yards. (I don’t know what the answer is!)

We did the hike Wednesday morning. Very nice scenery and views…steep, rocky and slippery coming down.

View of Cowichan Bay

Since there weren’t many guest boats, we were allowed to stay on the dock past checkout to lunch at the Genoa Bay Café. Nick had seafood chowder and calamari and I ordered their snapper tacos. All very good.

Trailside whimsy
About 1 inch big, whatever it is
Barely visible beach art (heron on rock)
Marina art

Off to Thetis Island and the Telegraph Harbour Marina, another fave.
