We took the dinghy across the way to the Granville Market yesterday morning. So much good food! We grabbed a couple of scones and some bagels for breakfast. We remember a bit of a hassle checking in to the dinghy dock last year – can’t remember exactly what went on. I think they’ve streamlined the process – just text a photo of your boat to the security number on the sign. Easy peasy.

After lunch we hopped on our bikes and rode out to Stanley Park. We’ve never been to Prospect Point before. Nice views of Burrard Inlet and Vancouver Harbour:

I decided to photograph some of the normal-to-slightly bizarre vessels/contraptions on the water in False Creek. These are in addition to the usual high traffic that includes pleasure boats of all sizes, SUP’s, kayaks, outrigger canoes, party-boats, wildlife-watchers, and dinghies. Not all great photos but you’ll get the drift:

We had a very nice meal at (Michelin-recommended) Fanny Bay Oyster Bar & Shellfish market, beginning with 18 SunSeekers on the half shell. Fish tacos and smoked oyster dip finished it off.

I’ve been making these nautical- themed fabric bags for gifts, storage and décor, perfect for the basil we snagged at the Granville Market flower stall.

Nick, as usual, has been tracking the weather closely. There is some wind in the forecast so we’ve debated how to best stage our trek northwestward. (Trying to second-guess the weather – silly.) There is no perfect plan but we’ve decided not to push it. For now, we’ll stay a third night here at the False Creek Yacht Club, and continue on to Gibson’s tomorrow.
