Wednesday morning here at the Gibsons Landing Harbour Authority Marina is relatively calm. No rain at the moment. This is likely to change, as this is what we’re attempting to avoid:

Gibsons is tucked around the corner though, so we should be okay. As I write the gusts are picking up.

We had a nice cruise Monday from Vancouver, north toward Howe Sound, up and around Bowen Island to Gibsons.

Gibsons is roughly divided into two areas, lower (the boat basin and historic waterfront) and upper (along the Sunshine Coast highway). Separating these two areas, and really the only way to walk between the two, is this hill:

It’s 1.1 kilometers at a 21% grade. Not sure if it’s more difficult going up or coming down! Either way, it’s a slog to a decent grocery store, which we visited yesterday morning for a few items.

Before we left Vancouver, we made a trip to…you guessed it…Canadian Tire! I read recently that their shopping bags are all the rage. I guess Nick is keeping up with the latest:

We’ll see how the weather plays out today and decide when we might continue our journey to Princess Louisa Inlet.
